Mission Ministry during COVID-19

U.M. ARMY continues to evaluate and monitor the state of the COVID-19 pandemic and how it impacts our missionaries.

This past summer we had incredible mission experiences in local communities that engaged youth, young adults, and adult volunteers!  The U.M. ARMY Board of Directors worked to create guidelines for mission weeks to assist in ensuring a safe experience for our missionaries as well as the clients we served.

These guidelines revisited the safety protocols for:

  • Work Site
  • Food
  • Lodging
  • Travel
  • Fellowship
  • Worship

Each year, since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Board Members and staff have and will continue to revisit our protocols to ensure we are keeping the safety of our missionaries as our priority.

Mission Model Options and Flexibility – We know some of our churches and participants may be hesitant to join us in a full sleep-away capacity. We have a variety of mission models to meet the needs of you and your group. Please contact your regional director to discuss these opportunities!

We continue to believe that God is at Work transforming the lives of so many people in the U.M. ARMY community. We can't wait to see what God has in store for us this year!
